Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Ashley Tharp was the guest of Andrew Koester to share information about the new business she is opening in Altamont – Goldie’s Baking Company – and how it was started.
When Ashley was laid off from her job in 2020, she turned her baking hobby into a cottage business, working out of her home to make custom-designed made-to-order cakes. She named her business Goldie’s after her grandmother, who taught her how to bake. Her business growth led her to purchase a building on the triangle in downtown Altamont.
Renovations are underway and she is planning a July opening. Rotarians were able to sample some of her offerings!
