- At 2:04 P.M. at 1702 W. Evergreen an armored truck driven by David A. Cox, 59, Evansville, IN, backed into a parked vehicle owned by Mid-Illinois Concrete, Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
May 3, 2019
- At 7:50 A.M. east of the intersection of Fayette and Willow a vehicle driven by Scott R. Kaufmann, 40, Effingham, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Mary A. Dascalos, 51, Teutopolis. Dascalos sustained injuries and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospital by private vehicle. Kaufmann was ticketed for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

- At 8:18 P.M. at the intersection of Rickelman and Cumberland Court a vehicle driven by Alexis D. Bell, 17, Wheeler, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Marilyn A. Allison, 59, Mattoon. No injuries and no citations.

- At 3:50 P.M. north of the intersection of 3rd and Technology a vehicle driven by Macey D. Bell, 17, Mason, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Milissa A. Weber, 56, Newton, causing Weber’s vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by Richard L. Carter, 77, Charleston. No injuries. Bell was ticketed for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
- At 4:47 P.M. at the intersection of Main and Virginia a vehicle driven by Veronica L. Hewkin, 21, Stewardson, pulled into the path of and was struck by a vehicle driven by Cody A. Doty, 40, Shumway. As a result of the collision, Doty’s vehicle left the roadway and struck and damaged a residence owned by Ruth Wiseman, Effingham. Both drivers sustained injuries but refused treatment. Hewkin was ticketed for No Valid Driver’s License, Failure to Yield, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
