FAYETTE COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Two vehicles were involved in an accident that occurred in Fayette County on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on US Route 40 near 925th street at 12:57pm.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 76 year old, James Williams, of Brownstown was traveling eastbound on US Route 40 near 925th street and was attempting to pass a combine.
At the same time, a vehicle driven by a juvenile from St Elmo was attempting to pass two vehicle and a combine in a curve.
When Williams attempted to pass the combine, he pulled out into the juvenile’s vehicle, striking the vehicle.
Both vehicles left the roadway and went into a field.
Both Williams and the juvenile were cited for improper lane usage and improper passing.
