Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- All school kids in Illinois can now get a school lunch, even if they don’t have the money to pay for it.
Governor Rauner late last month signed a new law that requires schools to provide students with a lunch, and end what critics call lunch shaming.
Schools will still try and collect lunch money, but if a family cannot pay, the school can encourage parents to enroll in the free or reduced lunch program.
