Effingham, Ill. – This past Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of Poplar Drive after receiving reports of a deceased male.
After the initial investigation was completed, the body found was identified as George Troxel, 69, of Effingham; there wern’t any signs of suspected foul play, according to the press release.
Currently there is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Bureau of Criminal Investigations as well as Illinois State Detectives.
As of right now Troxel’s body has been released to the Effingham County Coroner’s Office to determine cause of death.
Effingham County Coroner, Kim Rhodes, was contacted for further details, and she stated there will not be any further details regarding any reports for at least three weeks.
Effingham Police Chief, Jeff Fuesting, was contacted for further comment however there was not an immediate response.
