(Springfield, IL) — Cities and towns in Illinois are a step away from being banned from creating local right to work zones. The Illinois Senate yesterday easily overrode Governor Rauner’s veto of the law. The governor said in the past that he wants local right to work zones to be an option in order to open the state to more business growth. Democrats have never been fans of the idea, but a number of Republicans joined them yesterday in voting against the governor. Statehouse insiders say the override is a bad sign for Rauner moving forward.
