(Springfield, IL) — President Obama’s birthday is in early August, so it’s doubtful school kids in the state will ever get his birthday off from school. But a pair of lawmakers do want to make his birthday an official state holiday. Thapedi says now that he’s out of office, it should be easier to honor Illinois’ most recent president.
