BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
TEUTOPOLIS VS. EFFINGHAM
The Heart’s perfect season was stopped by Teutopolis who beat Effingham 83-74. Teutopolis led 21-16 after the first quarter and never trailed the rest of the game. Teutopolis was led by Mitch Hardiek who had 18 points, Brant Bueker scored 17 points and Lane Belleville who added 15. Effingham was led by Grant Wolfe who had 25 points, Landon Wolfe had 20 points and Jacob Donaldson added 19. Effingham is now 6-1 on the season and will host Mt. Zion on Friday. Teutopolis is now 6-1 on the season and will head to Robinson on Saturday at 5 PM.
NEWTON VS. ST. ANTHONY
St. Anthony were able to pull away in the second half and get the 55-43 win against Newton. The game had 13 lead changes in the first 19 minutes but St. Anthony was able to pull away behind Drew Gibson. St. Anthony was led by Gibson who scored 24. Newton was led by Tim Weber who had 10 points. Newton is now 4-4 on the season and will face Robinson on Friday night. St. Anthony is now 7-1 on the season and will host Dieterich on Friday night.
CASEY-WESTFIELD VS. NEOGA
Casey took the lead early and were able to get the win against Neoga 87-48. Casey was led by Logan Hawker who had 33 points. Neoga was led by Drew Ramert who had 14 points and Caleb Hill who had 12 points. Neoga is now 3-6 on the season and will face Arcola on Friday.
GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
CASEY-WESTFIELD VS. BROWNSTOWN/ST. ELMO
Casey came from down by one after the first quarter to beat B/SE 66-43. B/SE was led by Claire Wilhour who had 15. The loss drops B/SE to 9-3 on the season and will next play on the 27th at the Dieterich Holiday tournament.
RED HILL VS. NORTH CLAY
North Clay were able to defeat Red Hill 49-20. North Clay was led by Madi Craig who had 13 points, Taylor Jones who had 12, and Brilee Kellser who had 10 points. North Clay is now 3-4 on the season and will play at Flora on Thursday.
