Donald was born on July 25, 1937, in Mattoon, Illinois, the son of Everett Ramsey and Lela Winchester Ramsey. He married Betty Depoister on February 5, 1958, in Louisville, Illinois. Donald enjoyed working on cars and collecting junk that he thought were treasures, and loved going to auctions and antiquing seeing what treasures he could find. He was a big animal lover; they had all sorts of animals on the farm when Tammy was growing up. He was especially fond of his little dog Katie. He loved to watch westerns, and they were some of his favorite movies. Donald was a good friend and a great dad, and would do anything to help anybody. He had a green thumb and could grow anything, and had a talent for making flowers, trees, and shrubs be beautiful.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Ramsey of Edgewood, Illinois; sister, Frieda Lanham of Salem, Illinois; granddaughter, Britany Eckelberry; great-granddaughter, Renesmee, and great-grandsons, Zechariah and Rhett and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and his beloved little dog Katie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; sister, Doris Weber; and his brothers-in-law, Jack Lanham and Eddie Weber.
