
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Transportation & Infrastructure Committee met on Tuesday morning and discussed and approved a few items.
County officials reported that the jail roof replacement will begin in late September. E-Trax also began running routes again on August 3rd after being unable to do so due to staffing issues.
The Committee reported that the Rebuild Round 3 Grant may need to be renegotiated because IDOT says the price is still too steep. That process will continue until an agreement is met.
A resolution to approve submittal of an application for consolidated vehicle procurement grant was approved, and use of the downtown pavilion and courtyard was approved for Downtown Cruise Night on September 12 from noon to 9pm.
Josh Douthit said he will need to check with legislators about the Medicaid/Medicare non-emergency medical transportation item and will report back to the committee when he has more information. CEFS also said they are still looking for more drivers to hire.
Community Support Systems will also have an open house on September 15 from 4-7pm, and is welcoming the public to attend.
