Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Teutopolis Unit 50 has taken the next step toward a possible major renovation of Teutopolis Grade School. At Monday’s meeting, the Board of Education approved putting a 15-million-dollar school building bond proposal on the November 3rd, 2026 ballot.
The question asks voters whether the district should fund safety and security upgrades, classroom and restroom renovations, elevators, ADA accessibility improvements, floor and wall repairs, and replacement of water and sewer lines at the grade school.
The board says it will continue sharing information on facility needs, renovation options, financial considerations, and frequently asked questions. The tentative fiscal year 2027 budget was also approved for public display, with a hearing set September 14th at 6 p.m.
