Coles County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Local authorities are investigating after a body was found in Lakew Mattoon Sunday.
From the ISP DCI Zone 8:
On June 28, 2026, Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 8 was requested by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department to assist with a death investigation at Lake Mattoon. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time.
