Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Memorial Day services were held all across the country this weekend, and that included the annual ceremonies at Oakridge and Woodlawn cemeteries.
Larry Manuel was the MC of both ceremonies on Monday, introducing Pastor Steve Linton of the Journey Church in Effingham for the invocation.

Trent Soland and Charlie McWhorter raised the colors, followed by a singing of the National Anthem.

Gina Wolfe was the guest speaker, sharing a story about her family’s history of service and sacrifice.

The ceremony at Oakridge concluded and most everyone went to Woodlawn Cemetery, whose ceremony follows Oakridge.

Thank you to all who have served, and those who continue to serve in our armed forces. We are the land of the free because of the brave.
