
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Transportation & Infrastructure Committee met for their monthly meeting Tuesday morning and discussed many items, and approved a few for the full board to consider.
Kelly Lockhart with Effingham County Public Transportation provided an update on the Maintenance Facility grant, stating that they are completing their last study before moving forward. The process has been slow, but it may be finally pushed through soon.
An update to the Government Center Control systems went well, and a new flagpole was installed. Norbert Soldtwedel thanked those involved in helping put it in place.
In new business, bidding was opened for the jail roof to be redone, and the Sheriff’s Office will review the 3 bids that came in. The Committee also heard from CSS about their vehicle lease, which was indefinitely extended. The installation of a new County dropbox for tax payments and election ballots will be done after the new County Building parking lot is finished.
The Committee also approved:
- Historic Courtyard & Pavilion 250th celebration for Rotary
- Gentle Yoga at the Pavilion
- Merge of Shelby County 5311 & DOAP Grants
