Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois Department of Transportation is asking the public to be on alert for maintenance crews picking up trash and other debris across the state.
IDOT crews have been removing litter throughout Illinois, focusing on ramps, interchanges and known problem areas, with efforts increasing heading into summer. Residents are asked to properly dispose of trash.
Last year, IDOT spent more than 33-million-dollars statewide picking up litter, sweeping shoulders and removing large debris.
