Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- New home sales surged in March despite high mortgage rates.
Figures from the Commerce Department show sales of new single-family homes were at a seasonally adjusted rate of 693-thousand units. That’s an eight-point-eight percent jump above February’s revised annual rate.
The average price of a new home sold last month was nearly 525-thousand dollars.
