Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Salvation Army of Effingham County is proud to announce a dynamic new partnership with C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation, marking a significant milestone in their shared commitment to serving the community.
Recognizing both organizations’ shared values and complementary missions, The Salvation Army of Effingham County has joined forces with C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation to advance their mission of meeting human needs in the name of Jesus Christ without discrimination. C.E.F.S.’s mission to provide opportunities for people in communities through education and support to achieve and maintain stability aligns perfectly with The Salvation Army’s dedication to serving those in need.
The Salvation Army and C.E.F.S.’s collaboration comes at a pivotal moment, spurred by a personnel transition and a strategic reassessment of how best to serve Effingham County. Leveraging successful partnerships in neighboring counties, The Salvation Army identified C.E.F.S. as an ideal collaborator due to its trained staff and excellent social service provision.
Effective March 2024, C.E.F.S. assumes an integral role within the local Salvation Army Service Unit Committee and becomes the primary distributor for the basic needs assistance program in Effingham County. This partnership ensures a seamless transition and enhances both organizations’ capacity to deliver essential services to the community.
Amanda Steinmeyer, Divisional Associate Director of Service Extension for The Salvation Army’s Midland Division, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to collaborate with C.E.F.S. to continue our vision of having a stable and accessible Salvation Army presence that provides hope and healing through our programming and services. In rural, small-town communities like Effingham County, partnerships like these enable us to achieve our missions effectively and meaningfully.”
The Salvation Army has been steadfast in Effingham County since the 1990s, offering emergency basic needs assistance, including rent, utility, lodging, grocery, and medical aid. With the transition to C.E.F.S., individuals can access Salvation Army services through the C.E.F.S. Outreach Office located at 1010 West Jefferson, Effingham, IL 62401, or by phone at 217-347-7514.
