Two Vehicle Accident With Injury On Route 40

Effingham County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office:

WHAT:                      

• Two Vehicle Crash With Injuries

WHERE: 

• State Route 40 intersection of 2100th Street, St. Francis Township

WHEN:

• July 12th at 7:27PM

VEHICLES:

• Unit 1- Tan 2019 Ford
• Unit 2- 2016 Dodge

DRIVERS:                 

• Unit 1- Randall W. Hites, 59, of Effingham,
• Unit 2- Sadie L. Landis, 43, of Mifflinburg, PA

PRELIMINARY:      

• Unit 1 was southbound on 2100th Street. Unit 2 was eastbound on Highway 40. Unit 1 stopped at the intersection, then attempted to cross Highway 40. Driver of Unit 1 did not see Unit 2, the vehicles collided. Unit 1 came to rest on the roadway, Unit 2 came to rest on the south ditch east of the intersection.

CITATIONS:

• Unit 1 was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

TRANSPORTS:

• The driver and passengers of Unit 1 were taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
