Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis Board of Education met on Monday, March 13th.
The following action was taken at the meeting:
- The Board recognized guests and public comments. Teacher Al Church and students of the THS Robotics Club were present to discuss their upcoming Robotics Field Trip to Kansas City in April.
- The Board approved the Treasurer’s Reports and the February payment of bills.
- The Board approved the minutes from the February 13 regular meeting.
- The Board amended the 2022-23 School Calendar to include the recent March 9 Not In Attendance day and then add one more attendance day to May.
- The Board set the following dates for end-of-year activities: High School Graduation for Sunday, May 21, at 2:30 pm; Jr High Promotion on Thursday, May 18, at 7:30 pm at THS Gym.
- The Board approved a Field Trip for the THS Robotics Class to Kansas City on April 15-16.
- The Board approved the annual SEPCO Cooperative Agreement for food purchases for 2023-24.
- The Board approved an enrollment request per the ISBE employee non-resident waiver for 2023-24.
- The Board approved summer camps.
- The Board approved the renewal of Student Management System software renewal for 2023-24.
- The Board approved the academic calendar for 2023-24 – First day of school for students August 16.
- The Board approved the Consolidated District Plan for 2023-24.
- The Board approved to renew membership in the IHSA & IESA for the 2023-24 school year.
- The Board approved to enter into an Electric Supply Agreement for 4 years with Constellation Energy as secured through Affordable Gas & Electric.
- Presentation of reports to the Board included: building updates from Principals and Athletic Directors; quarterly department reports; April 4 Consolidated Election Reminder
- The Board approved resignations from: Antonio Munoz as Volleyball Assistant Coach; Cheryl McLeod as TGS Paraprofessional; Barbara Williams as Bus Driver.
- The Board hired/assigned the following for the 2023-24 academic year contingent upon their successfully meeting all employment requirements: Sarah Lin as Bookkeeper; Brooke Hoene as THS School Counselor; Kendra Bierman as THS School Counselor; Hannah Kreke as Gr 1 Teacher; Kelsey Hutmacher as THS English I Teacher (from THS Special Ed Teacher); Derrick Zerrusen as District Activities & Athletic Director
- The Board approved the THS Athletic Official Compensation for 2023-24 as presented.
- The Board re-employed the following administrators and their contracts as presented: Sherry Hoehn as Grade School Principal; Pat Drees as Jr High School Principal; Tanner Lawson as High School Principal
- The Board appointed Sarah Lin as District Treasurer and approved a resolution for bank signatories as presented.
- The next regular Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 17, 2023.
