ISP Investigating Fatal Traffic Crash In Alexander County

Alexander County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 22:

WHAT:                       

• Single Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash

WHERE:

• Interstate 57 at milepost 1, near Cairo, Alexander County

WHEN:

• October 25, 2022 at approximately 4:52 p.m.

VEHICLES:

• Unit 1 – 2023 Red Freightliner Truck-Tractor Semi-Trailer Combination

DRIVERS:

• Unit 1 – Dennis L. Davidson, 67-year-old male from Columbia, TN – Deceased.

PRELIMINARY:        

• Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Interstate 57, negotiating the curve on the ramp at the exit at milepost 1.  Unit 1 lost control and left the roadway to the left and overturned onto its driver’s side. The driver of Unit 1 was pronounced deceased on the scene.
