Jackson Township, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by the Effingham Police Department:
WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Traffic Crash With Injuries
WHERE:
- 1000th Road, 200 Feet South of 1150th Avenue – Jackson Township
WHEN:
- Sept. 25th at 1:13am
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – Maroon 2013 Chrysler
- Unit 2 – Black 2003 GMC
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – Jaxon B. Kincaid, 21, of Effingham – Transported to a regional hospital with incapacitating injuries.
- Unit 2 – Adam J. Schackman, 41, of Effingham
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was travelling southbound on 1000th Road coming up the hill crest on the I-70 overpass. Unit 2 was travelling northbound about 200 feet south of 1150th Avenue. Unit 1 crossed over into the northbound lane. Unit 2 advised that Unit 1 attempted to correct then turned back into the northbound lane. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 head on. Unit 2 caught fire and all persons were able to exit the vehicle.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Improper Lane Use.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
