WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries
WHERE:
- US Highway 45 at Stewart Street – Watson Township
WHEN:
- July 11 at 2:11pm
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – Black 2013 Ford Truck
- Unit 2 – Green 2000 Harley Davidson
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – 38 year old Jerod B. Gale of Effingham
- Unit 2 – 51 year old Paul D. Talbert of Effingham
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 2 was travelling north on US Highway 45. Unit 2 slowed down to turn into a private drive near US Highway 45 and Stewart Street. Unit 1 did not notice Unit 2 slowing down, resulting in Unit 1 rear ending Unit 2, causing the driver of Unit 2 to be ejected off the motorcycle.
TRANSPORTS:
- The driver of Unit 2 was flown to Carle Hospital with incapacitating injuries.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
