Louisville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following has been released by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page:
“On May 31, 2022 at approximately 8:45 a.m. the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Louisville for a report burglary. The victim advised that multiple items including tools, a compound bow and other house items had been stolen from the residence and an outbuilding.
During the course of the investigation the deputy was able to develop person(s) of interest relating to the burglary and they were taken into custody later that day. Upon further investigation the deputy was able to recover all the reported stolen property that same day except one chainsaw.
As a result of the investigation, Derek L. Perry, 35, and Ashley D. Perry, 38, both of Flora were arrested and later charged with the offense of Burglary and Theft more than $500 but less than $10,000. Both individual’s bond was later set in Clay County Court in the amount $30,000 (10% to apply) and later posted bond.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing and the public is encouraged if you have information relating to this theft or any others are asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office or if you wish to remain anonymous to please submit your information by texting XCRIME to tip411 or by using the XCRIME app on your smartphone. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Flora Police Department and the Clay County State’s Attorney Phillip Givens in this investigation. The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.”
