- Effingham Police arrested 42 year old Jonathan R. Lawhead of Effingham for an Effingham County mittimus to jail. Jonathan was taken to the Effingham County jail.
- Effingham Police arrested 38 year old Derek A. Britz of Edgewood for violation of child murderer and violent offender against youth act. Derek was taken to the Effingham County jail.
- Effingham Police arrested 23 year old Jonathan E. Townsend of Mattoon for driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle, a Coles County FTA warrant for driving on a suspended license, a Coles County FTA warrant for criminal damage to property, and a Coles County FTA warrant for assault and criminal damage to property. Jonathan posted bond and was released.

- At 1:47 P.M. at 511 W. Virginia vehicles driven by Shayna S. Phillips, 24, Effingham, and Leslie R. Boothby, 67, Effingham, backed into each other. No injuries and no citations.
June 4, 2022
- At 6:25 P.M. south of the intersection of Banker and Elm a vehicle travelling northbound, driven by Justin L. Switzer, 28, Marshall, crossed the southbound lanes, jumped a curb and left the roadway, crossed a grass lot, jumped two more curbs and came to rest in a parking lot. No injuries and no citations.
