Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A large storm system is expected to bring snow and ice along with powerful thunderstorms to nearly a dozen states in the central plains and the southeast by midweek.
Forecasters say conditions will create a boundary line between the snow and ice component to the storm which will stay on the west side of the system stretching from New Mexico and Colorado into northern Illinois and Wisconsin. Rain and thunderstorm activity is likely from Houston to the Ohio and Tennessee valleys.
Travelers across the region should expect changing weather conditions by Wednesday with strong winds, flooding conditions, hail and possible tornadoes.
