WHAT:
- Two Unit Traffic Crash With Injury
WHERE:
- US Highway 40 at 640th Street, Jackson Township
WHEN:

VEHICLES:
- Unit 1- Silver 1997 Buick Lesabre Limited
- Unit 2- Silver 2017 Buick Envision Essence
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1- Mathew W. Koberlein, 32, of Effingham
- Unit 2- Terri K. Simpson, 63, of Altamont
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Route 40 attempting to turn left onto 640th Street. Unit 1 travelled into the path of Unit 2, who was travelling eastbound. The impact sent unit 2 off the right side of the roadway and overturned after striking the ditch.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was cited for leaving the scene of personal injury accident, possession of stolen vehicle, driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
