- 39 year old, Corey B. Kuhns, of Effingham, IL, was arrested by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County FTA warrant for Contempt. Kuhns posted $300.
- 42 year old, Michael L. Johnson, of Kansas City, MO, was arrested by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on a Clark County FTA warrant. Johnson posted $1260.

- At 1:19 P.M. north of the intersection of Keller and Hampton a vehicle driven by Leevi R. Baker, 24, Effingham, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Shari L. Roy, 52, Mattoon. No injuries and no citations
- At 4:08 P.M. at the intersection of Keller and W. Evergreen a semi driven by Ahmed A. Mohammed, 31, Detroit, MI, struck a vehicle driven by Taylor M. McFarland, 18, Altamont. No injuries. Mohammed was ticketed for Improper Lane Usage.

- At 3:47 P.M. west of the intersection of Fayette and Cherry an unknown vehicle rear-ended a vehicle driven by Robert E. Bramble, 61, Millville, DE. No injuries and no citations at this time.
- At 4:33 P.M. at the intersection of Grove and Henrietta a vehicle driven by Dennis C. W. Lorton, 39, Effingham, backed into a vehicle driven by Curtis L. Christianson, 18, Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
September 7, 2019
- At 5:03 P.M. west of the intersection of W. Fayette Avenue and Fayette Frontage Road a vehicle driven by Corrine M. Bottila, 54, Crystal River, Florida, was traveling eastbound and entered the opposite lane of traffic as a semi driven by Robert D. Matson, 53, Newton, was traveling westbound, causing the vehicles to collide head-on. Bottila was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to fatal injuries. Matson was uninjured. No citations were issued. Effingham Police were assisted in the investigation by Illinois State Police and Effingham County Sheriff’s Department.
- At 7:43 P.M. at 1510 Ave of Mid America a vehicle driven by Sharon Dong, 16, Effingham, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Matilda A. Dzakuma, 69, Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
