- 35 year old, Scott B. Langford, of Effingham, IL, was arrested by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County warrant for Contempt. Langford posted $500.
- 22 year old, Ashley N. Schaufler, of Teutopolis, IL, was arrested by Effingham Police Department for Retail Theft and an Effingham County warrant for Contempt. Schaufler posted $350.
- 27 year old, Kyrstie M. Roderick, of Effingham, IL, was arrested by Effingham Police Department for Retail Theft.
- 49 year old, John A. Herboth, of Effingham, IL, was arrested by Effingham Police Department for Domestic Battery.
- 39 year old, Richard S. Newlin, of Edgewood, IL, was arrested by Effingham County Sheriff’s Department for Possession Of Methamphetamine (<5 grams) and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia.

April 9, 2019
- At 5:00 P.M. at the intersection of Merchant and Virginia a vehicle driven by Citlali Hoyos, 19, Effingham, pulled into the path of and was struck by a vehicle driven by Jamie M. Ruffner, 34, Neoga. No injuries. Hoyos was ticketed for Failure to Yield.
April 13, 2019
- At 10:16 A.M. at 1600 Ford a vehicle driven by Rosalie F. Nasser, 50, Effingham, pulled into the path of and was struck by a vehicle driven by Gina N. Reeves, 30, Altamont. The impact caused Nasser’s vehicle to flip over and land on a third vehicle driven by Shelly R. Schutte, 53, Sigel. Nasser, Reeves, and a passenger in Reeves’ vehicle, Jakeb R. Smith, 26, Altamont, all sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment. Nasser was ticketed for Failure to Yield.
April 18, 2019
- At 4:27 P.M. at the intersection of 3rd and the I57 SB/I70 WB entrance ramp a vehicle driven by Jill E. Shuemaker, 34, Windsor, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Jennifer S. Zerrusen, 54, Effingham. Both drivers sustained injuries but refused treatment. Shuemaker was ticketed for Illegal Use of Electronic Communication Device while Driving.
- At 11:07 P.M. at 1304 W. Evergreen a bus driven by James V. Morton, 72, Lebanon, IN, struck and damaged an overhead clearance sign owned by Reva Properties Inc., Effingham. No injuries and no citations.
