A Montrose child was injured in an accident that occurred two miles east of Effingham on Saturday morning.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 eastbound at milepost 99 at 10:25am. The report states that a vehicle driven by 31 year old, Kelly M Frohning, of Montrose was traveling eastbound on I-70 when two deer attempted to cross the road. Frohning avoided the first deer but the second impacted the driver’s side rear door.
Frohing’s passenger, a three year old male, was transported by ambulance to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
