- 27 year old, Nicole M. Kessler, of Cowden was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County original warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
- 31 year old, Brian D. Houser, of Shumway was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant for possession of Methamphetamine.
- 33 year old, Michael D. White, of Cowden was arrested by the Effingham Police Department for possession of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer.
- 37 year old, Ramiro Munoz, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham Police Department for no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no valid registration.
May 24, 2017
- 49 year old, Scott A. Crain, of Vandalia was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department for driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Crain posted $150.
- 22 year old, Jacob D. Beck, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department for disorderly conduct and a Jasper County failure to appear warrant for criminal trespass to a residence and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
- 28 year old, Daniel W. Wert, of Effingham was arrested by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant for driving while under the influence of drugs.

- 50 year old, Larry J. Rine, of Effingham was cited for driving while license is revoked.
May 24, 2017
- A 17 year old Juvenile, of Neoga was cited for curfew violation.
Investigations
Police are investigating the theft of a wallet that occurred at 1910 S. Banker on May 23rd at approximately 11:27am. The wallet, valued at $50, was stolen from a purse and contained a driver’s license, five social security cards, and an undetermined amount of cash.
Mattoon Police Department
Arrests
May 23, 2017
- 34 year old, Anna M. Derixson, of Mattoon was arrested in the 1100 block of Moultrie Ave and was charged with two counts of theft. The charges allege that Derixson stole wallets from two separate males and used the debit card of one of the victims to withdraw money from an ATM. She is incarcerated at the Coles County Jail.
All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
