Effingham Mayor Jeff Bloemker commended now retired Effingham Police Chief Michael Schutzbach for his 30 years of service to the City. Schutzbach’s last day was on August 30th, however he will continue to serve in the capacity as interim police chief until a replacement can be found.
Mayor Bloemker presented Schutzbach a plaque at Tuesday’s Effingham City Council Meeting.

During the meeting, Schutzbach thanked the Effingham Police Department, the City Council, and a former mentor for their support.
