The Cubs got a big game from Kris Bryant, as he went 5 for 5 including 2 home runs, as the Cubs swept the Brewers 9-6.
The Cubs got on the board in the bottom of the first on RBI’s from Zobrist and Russell to make it 2-0. The Cubs added three more runs in the third on a Bryant 2 run home run and a Contreras RBI double to make it 5-0. The Brewers came back in the fourth with a three run home run from Nieuwenhuis to make it 5-3. The Cubs added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on RBI doubles from Bryant and Rizzo. The Brewers added two more runs in the sixth on a PĂ©rez solo home run and a Villar bases loaded walk to make it 7-5. The Cubs got another run in the sixth on a Bryant solo home run to make it 8-5. The Brewers got another run on an RBI by Flores in the eighth to make it 8-6. The Cubs got their final run in the eighth on a Bryant RBI single making it 9-6.
Arrieta got the win improving to 15-5 on the season. Arrieta gave up 5 runs on 3 hits while striking out 3 and walking 7 over 5 and 2/3 innings. Davies took the loss falling to 9-6 on the year. Davies gave up 7 runs on 10 hits while striking out 4 and walking 1 over 4 innings.
