The City of Effingham has named Water Treatment Plant Operator Mile Ziegler Employee of the Year. Janet Ohnesorge, Matt Wortman, and Kelsey Lock were also nominated.
The Employee of the Year is selected from the pool those awarded Employee of the Quarter for demonstrating exemplary service in their posts.
Ziegler was awarded Employee of the Quarter because of his efforts to modernize the Water Treatment Plant. Ziegler has also been recognized as runner-up for Operator of the Year at the Illinois Potable Water Supply Operators Association last year. He also was a nominee, and recognized, for the Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Year program.
Ziegler will be recognized at Tuesday’s City Council Meeting, set to begin at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
