Joyce Faulkner, 86, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 6:28 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham with Keith Warren officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 190 E 6th St, Neoga, IL 62447.
Joyce was born on May 29, 1940, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Marian (Majors) Stover. Joyce was raised in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1958. She married Robert Faulkner on September 28, 1958 at the First Christian Church, Galesburg, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2024.
Joyce was a lifelong homemaker and her husband’s right-hand woman. She enjoyed American history and geography. They travelled extensively in the USA and Canada. Through the years, they have enjoyed time with their family, friends, and neighbors.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Jeff (wife, Wendy) Faulkner of Neoga and Todd Faulkner of St. Elmo; grandsons, Deacon (wife, Donna) Faulkner, Daniel Thayer, and Adam (wife, Misty) Thayer; great-grandchildren, Boden and Finn Faulkner, Liam and Layne Thayer, and Evan Holt and niece and nephews, Sandra, Steven, and Mark. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob”; grandson, Stewart Chandler; sister, Barbara Harvey, and brother-in-law, Bill Harvey.
