
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Effingham County Clerk, Michelle Kollmann, reminds any individual interested in filing as a school board member for the April 6th Consolidated Election may pick up their nomination packet at the Effingham County Clerk’s office. The nomination packets are available for the following Effingham County school districts: Altamont Unit 10, Beecher City Unit 20, Dieterich Unit 30, Effingham Unit 40 and Teutopolis Unit 50.
The first day of petition circulation is August 25, 2026. The packets are available at the clerk’s office at 101 N. Fourth St, Effingham IL 62401. The office hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The filing period for candidates to run as a school board member are November 16 thru November 23, 2026 at the Effingham County Clerk’s office. Any candidate running for school board may contact the County Clerk’s office for questions at 217-342-6535.
Also, nomination packets for any individual wanting to run for office with any city, village, town, park district, or fire district must contact the clerk of appropriate municipality. The clerk of that municipality is considered to be the local election official. Interested individuals must contact that clerk on how to obtain the nomination packet or for any additional questions and information.
