Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Public Library is doubling as a cooling center during this heatwave, but if you can’t get to the Library, accomodations can be arranged.
From City of Effingham EMA Coordinator Larry Thies:
The daytime cooling center is the Effingham Library Monday thru Thursday 8a.m. to 7p.m. Friday 8a.m. to 6p.m. Saturday 9a.m. to 1p.m. Closed on Sunday.
Nighttime temperatures in Effingham are dropping into the 70s, cooling down enough to reduce the need for cooling shelters. If the weather conditions warrant it and there are requests for a cooling shelter, we will make accommodations to meet the need.
