Jackson Township, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A four-vehicle crash occurred on U.S. Highway 40 near North 700th Street in Jackson Township.
Authorities say 59 year old Tracey L. Marten of Altamont fell asleep and crossed into oncoming traffic, striking three eastbound vehicles. 39 year old Jessica L. Wolfert of Altamont, 24 year old Helen M. Mason of St. Elmo, and 63 year old Jeffrey A. Clow of Effingham were the drivers of each vehicle.
3 of the 4 drivers suffered injuries, and passengers Jared C. Mason, 25, of St. Elmo, and Betty S. Clow, 61, of Effingham, suffered injuries and were transported to Saint Anthony’s Hospital. The driver (Marten) was cited for improper lane usage.
