Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Airport Committee met on Wednesday and gave a few updates.
The runway extension is nearing completion, but lighting is still being completed at this time. Everything will still need to be inspected before it can officially be finished. Repairs are still needed on the hangar, and electric work is still being finished up. The Committee also announced that the Effingham County Landfill Sedimentation Pond still needs FAA approval.
Effingham Fire Chief Brant Yochum also announced that he and the Watson Fire Chief will likely attend a safety class on August 17th at 6pm.
IDOT has not given a date for the Runway Extension ribbon cutting, but once they finalize it, a date and time will be announced.
