Steven Scott Hardiek, 62, of Newton, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home. Private services will be held. In loving memory of Steven, memorials may be made to family. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.
Steven was born on January 10, 1964, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Gerald and Luella (Hutmacher) Hardiek. He was a graduate of Dieterich High School. He loved tinkering on cars.
Steven is survived by his grandson whom he raised Gage Thompson, daughter Andrea Hardiek, step grandson Mark Walker, siblings Geri (James “Jag”) Woods, Joe (Sheila) Hardiek, Mary Lynn (Larry) Carroll, Patty (Greg) Garbe, Mark (Brenda) Hardiek, Christy (Gary) Harder, Kara (Ron) Geier and Matt (Carol) Hardiek and sister-in-law Marke Hardiek.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, son Christopher Hardiek, siblings Paul Hardiek, Larry Hardiek and Tracy Hardiek, wife Linda Marie and stepdaughter Jessica Nichole Thompson.
