Parts of Southern Illinois reportedly felt the effects of an earthquake this weekend. The 3.5-magnitude quake hit early Sunday morning around the border between Illinois and Kentucky near La Center, Kentucky. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake was felt as far north as Richland and Wayne Counties. The earthquake occurred in the New Madrid Seismic Zone, which covers Illinois and four other states.
