Clark County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- Illinois Route 1, near Douglas Road, Clark County
WHEN:
- Aug. 7, 2022 at approximately 5:21 p.m.
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – White 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Van
- Unit 2 – Red 2019 Kia Soul
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – Jeremiah T. Boswell, a 26-year-old male from Marshall, IL – Transported to a regional hospital with injuries.
- Unit 2 – A 50-year-old female from Indianapolis, IN – Deceased
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling north on Illinois Route 1, near Douglas Road. Unit 2 was traveling south on Illinois Route 1, near Douglas Road. Unit 1 attempted to make a left turn into a driveway and crossed into the path of Unit 2. Unit 1 struck the front bumper of Unit 2. Both drivers were transported to a regional hospital with injuries. The driver of Unit 2 was pronounced deceased after arriving at the hospital. The Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit (TCRU) is continuing the investigation. No further information is available.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Improper Lane Use.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
