One Injured in Single Vehicle Accident in Fayette County Friday

Fayette County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12

WHAT: Single Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries

WHERE: Interstate 57 southbound at Milepost 136, Fayette County

WHEN: July 8, 2022 at 10:20 a.m.

VEHICLES: Unit 1 – Blue 2009 Mercury passenger car                                  

DRIVERS: John Warren, a 45-year-old male of Buffalo Grove, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

PASSENGER: Unit 1 – Michael Boal, a 28-year-old male from Tucker, GA – Refused medical attention.                                

PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was southbound on Interstate 57 at Milepost 136.  For an unknown reason, Unit 1 lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway to the right.  Unit 1 struck a concrete culvert and become airborne.  The front end of Unit 1 struck the ditch embankment causing the vehicle to overturn.  Unit 1 came to rest right side up.  Unit 1 driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated. 

CHARGES: The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Improper Lane Use and Driver While License Suspended.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
