Marion County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Single Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- Green Street at Norton Road, Centralia, Marion County
WHEN:
- April 17, 2022 at approximately 10:11 p.m.
VEHICLE:
Unit 1– 2011 Black Chevrolet Sedan
DRIVER:
- Unit 1- Jade Hamilton, 21-year-old female from Centralia, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital and later transferred to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling east on Green Street near Norton Road in Centralia, Marion County. The driver of Unit 1 hydroplaned on the wet roadway and lost control, ran off the road to the left and struck a ditch. Unit 1 then overturned several times. Unit 1 driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and later transferred to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries.
CHARGES:
- Unit 1 driver was cited for Too Fast for Conditions.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
