Effingham County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Single Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- Interstate 57 northbound near milepost 157, Effingham County
WHEN:
- March 8, 2022 at approximately 4:40 p.m.
VEHICLE:
- Unit 1– 2009 Maroon Nissan Murano
DRIVER:
- Unit 1- Patsy Whipple, 53-year-old female from Mason, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling in the right lane of Interstate 57 northbound near milepost 157 in Effingham County. Unit 1 driver left the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, overturned and came to rest in the left lane. The driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
CHARGES:
- Unit 1 driver was cited for Improper Lane Usage and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Using an Electronic Communication Device.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
