Mound Township, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by the Effingham Police Department:
WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- US Highway 40 1/4 mile west of 450th Street, Mound Township
WHEN:
- Feb. 2 at 6:04pm
VEHICLE:
- Unit 1 – Gold 1998 Ford Ranger
- Unit 2 – White 2016 Ford F-150
DRIVER:
- Unit 1 – Dillon L. Jones, 30, of Altamont
- Unit 2 – Matthew W. Griggs, 39, of St. Elmo
PRELIMINARY:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound and Unit 2 westbound on US Highway 40. Unit 1 lost control on the icy roadway, spun around and struck Unit 2.
CHARGES:
- Unit 1 driver was cited for DUI alcohol and failure to reduce speed.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
