Fayette County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Single Vehicle Personal Injury Traffic Crash
WHERE:
- Interstate 70 near milepost 65, Fayette County
WHEN:
- Jan. 27, 2022 at approximately 7:42 a.m.
VEHICLE:
- Unit 1– 2009 White GMC Truck
DRIVER:
- Unit 1- John Camplin, 45-year-old male from Indianapolis, IN – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
- A preliminary investigation indicates the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling west on Interstate 70 near milepost 65 in Fayette County. The driver of Unit 1 lost control and struck a guardrail and rolled over into the right ditch. The roadway was snow covered at the time of the accident. Unit 1 driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
CHARGES:
- Unit 1 driver was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
