WHAT:
- Single Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries
WHERE:
- Interstate 70 westbound near milepost 58, Fayette County
WHEN:
- Dec. 22, 2021 at approximately 12:08 P.m.
VEHICLE:
- Unit 1 – 2020 Blue Freightliner Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer
DRIVER:
- Unit 1 – Angela S. Smith, 41-year-old female from Cuba, MO – Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Interstate 70 near mile post 58 in Fayette County. For unknown reasons, Unit 1 left the roadway, crossed the median into the eastbound lanes, and went into the south ditch. Unit 1 driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries.
CHARGES:
The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
