WHAT:
- Single Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries
WHERE:
- Interstate 57 northbound near milepost 132 and Blomberg Road, Kinmundy, Marion County
WHEN:
- Dec. 20, 2021 at approximately 9:00 a.m.
VEHICLE:
- Unit 1 – 2018 Black Ford Explorer
DRIVER:
- Unit 1 – Kenneth A. Thomas, 51-year-old male from Peoria, IL – Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Interstate 57 near milepost 132 in Marion County. Unit 1 driver had a medical episode and left the roadway to the right. Unit 1 crossed through a ditch, through several fences, and eventually struck a tree located on the property of a residence on Blomberg Road in Kinmundy, IL. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
CHARGES:
- The driver of Unit 1 was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
