
Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The following information is from Effingham County Republican Central Committee Chairman Rob Arnold:
“The Effingham County Republican Central Committee has set up the following procedure for selecting a recommendation to the Effingham County Board to fill the future vacancy of the Effingham County Sheriff’s current term. This recommendation is due to the announcement of the retirement of Republican Sheriff David Mahon on June 1st of this year.
Interested Effingham County Republicans who wish to apply for this position will need to do the following:
Submit your resume’, with references, and a brief letter explaining why you should be recommended to fill this term vacancy. These three components make up the application.

Only those applications received with a postmark date on or before May 14th 2021 will be considered by the Sheriff Vacancy Committee.
Depending on the number of applications submitted, we might have to prequalify some candidates. Those applicants selected to be interviewed will take place during the week of May 24thth through May 27thth. Our plan is to have the name selected on May 28thth , when I will pass that name onto the Effingham County Board as our recommendation to fill the vacancy.
