Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Casey’s newest big attraction, a ball influenced by the Poké ball, will be officially unveiled on April 10, 2021 at 10am CST. The event and the attraction will be at The Tee Shirt Connection located at 8 West Main St. in Casey, IL. The event is open to all media and to the public.
Jim Bolin, Vice-President of Bolin Enterprises, Inc. built the ball in addition to the existing big attractions found within Casey, IL. Jim used salvage materials to create the attraction, as he has done in the past with previous ones. The idea for the attraction came from Jim’s son, Drew, who grew up as an avid fan of the Pokémon Series.
The ball is unique because it opens and can hold up to 4 adults inside, making it another fun photo opportunity. Although it will not set a world record, the ball is a great addition to the Big Things collection. The ball made of steel measures 5 foot in diameter and weighs a little more than 1500 pounds.
In keeping with the tradition of attaching a scripture to the large items, Bolin chose to use “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” (1 Corinthians 3:19 NIV)
Visitors are encouraged to post on all social media platforms using the hashtag #BigThingsSmallTown. The Big Things in a Small Town website, bigthingssmalltown.com, contains information and images about all of the attractions, in addition to offering an online and downloadable tourism map.
